Important change to the Social Security Act - Contributions Regulations, 2023.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Effective Date: January 1st, 2025
Contribution Rate Increase Phase 2

Dear Valued Contributors,

The SSB wants to remind you about the important change to the Social Security Act - Contributions (Amendment) Regulations, 2023.

Starting from January 1 st , 2025, Phase 2 of the gradual increase in the contribution rates for both employees and employers will take effect as follows:

  • January 1st, 2025: Employee - 5.50%, Employer - 5.50%
  • January 1st, 2026: Employee - 5.75%, Employer - 5.75%

This adjustment is necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of our Social Security System, which will benefit all our contributors. Please note that these changes are temporary and effective until December 31st, 2026.

Starting from January 1 st, 2027, employees and employers will contribute 6% each, sharing the responsibility equally and contributing to a rate of 12%.
