Temporary COVID-19 UAB Update

The Social Security Board is pleased to report that it was able to roll out the Unemployment/Underemployment Assistance Benefit (UAB) Programme, receive and process applications, and make the payments for April in less than a month. All persons who have not yet applied for the UAB for the month of April, please note that the application process remains open and claims may be submitted until 15th June 2020. All applications already received for the month of April have been processed and payments made.

As the Social Security Office prepares for the processing of applications and payments for the month of May, the public will be notified when the Office is ready to receive these applications. Persons who remain unemployed or underemployed and meet the qualifying conditions for the months of May and June are being kindly asked to reapply when the second application becomes available.

Applicants are referred to the UAB website www.uassistance.ai for any information on their application and details about the Programme.
