Social Security Employer Registration

A person or body corporate with whom an employee has entered into a contract or service or apprenticeship expressed or implied whereby such person or body corporate is liable to pay salary, wages and other remuneration for services performed by the employee.

The Social Security Law requires that Employers register and pay contributions on behalf of all employees, even if they employ one person on a part time basis only.

To register with the Social Security Office, an employer must submit his or her Business License along with a completed Employer Registration Form. All documents presented must be original.

Employment of Persons

Employers should note that it is an offence to employ any person who is not registered as an Employee with the Social Security Office.

Benefit Rate

Sickness Benefit is paid weekly at a rate of 60% of your average insurable earnings over the 13-week period prior to your date of claim.

When and How to Claim?

Claims for Sickness Benefit should be made on the approved form(Form SB1) not later than six (6) months from the day on which the incapacity for work commenced. Please ensure that your Name, Address, Telephone Number and Social Security Number are stated correctly.
